I am a university student (2024) from Germany!
And ROCKET LANDER is my hobby passion project.

HISTORY of ROCKET LANDER

In my 10th year of grammar school, we had to create a game to learn the Java programming language.
Back then, I finished a prototype and really enjoyed its simple "one-hand gameplay" along with its high skill ceilling.
So, I decided to continue working on it in my free time using the Godot Engine.
And in early 2021, I released version 1.0.0.

That's how ROCKET LANDER came to be :)


My DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Seeing how many apps today use unfair microtransactions that harm vulnerable people the most, I wanted to create a game without those issues.
I focussed on a "player first" design that rewards players for improving. I also wanted to bring back the challenge of classic arcade games, where every pattern can be learned and nothing is random. This inspired me to create "Expert Mode."
At the same time, I created "Normal Mode" to provide a more modern way to play and enjoy the game.

FUN FACT

The Grand Prix "Prometheus" and its levels are inspired by the level layouts I created for my school project back then.
